Please note, this blog was posted in 2013. Face Clinic London no longer offers Chemical Peels. Please use this post as a guide. You can book for a Microdermabrasion via our website, or via Treatwell – www.treatwell.co.uk/place/soho-beauty-treatments/
As autumn firmly sets in, it is coming up to the season where many people embark on treatments to take care of their skin. Winter is in fact a time to have a skin treatment such as microdermabrasion or a chemical peel. One of the reasons being that you have to keep out of the sun before a skin peel.
Most people are becoming better educated on the dangers of skin cancer caused by too much sunshine (or, to be exact, from being poorly protected from the sun’s UVA and UVB rays) and if you are considering having a facial peel or microdermabrasion, then this is the perfect time to have a treatment
So, don’t think that all this bitingly cold, damp and miserable weather is bad for your skin and wrap it up and hide it away for the winter – instead, use this time of year to freshen it up and show your skin a bit of love instead!
There are a number of different treatments which you can choose from. Ones such as chemical skin peels are great for treating blemishes, pigmentation, uneven skin tones and acne, while microdermabrasion is a gentle, mechanical exfoliating treatment which can give instant visible results – the vacuum action sucks off debris and dead skin cells from the top layer of skin and it can be collected in a cup for the client to see after their treatment!.
A skin peel, which takes just half an hour, is mainly used to improve and smooth out the surface of the skin. As the name suggests, a solution is applied to the face to peel away the top layers of skin, leading to smoother, healthier new skin growth which appears less wrinkled than the old skin.
Superficial peels can be used on many different skin types, including those with darker tones, because, compared to the medium and deep skin peels, they have a much gentler effect and don’t give visible peeling, inflammation or significant redness. Clients having these types of peels don’t need to have any pain relief, nor do they require any recovery time (including time off work).
To get the best results, from chemical peels and microdermabrasion, a course of six treatments is advised – Face Clinic London is currently offering a 10% discount off a course of treatments booked in November 2013.
Microdermabrasion is a highly effective skin treatment which gives instant visible results and can also be used as part of a course of treatment to tackle specific skin problems. At Face Clinic London, we’ve launched a treatment using high-tech safe and painless technology, a hand held device, which is applied to the skin by our trained therapist – micro crystals mechanically extract and peel off dead skin cells, which smooths out the top layer of skin, leaving the face looking brighter and fresher after just one treatment.
This means it’s perfect for preparation for a special occasion such a wedding, graduation or landmark birthday party. It’s also suitable for all skin types and with no visible peeling or recovery time required, it can even be done in a lunch-hour.
