How Are Warts and skin tags Removed?

Warts and skin tags are quickly and easily removed with liquid nitrogen freezing treatment also called Cryotherapy. This treatment has been used widely for a number of decades to treat benign skin conditions including skin tags. The treatment is safe, very effective, quick and painless. How does Cryotherapy Treatment Work?

Freezing of the wart or skin tag causes destruction of the blood supply and infected tissue. Inflammation caused by the freezing promotes new skin growth underneath the treated area.

Will I need more than one Cryotherapy Treatment?

Most warts or skin tags are successfully treated after one Cryopen treatment however you may need to return for a second free follow up treatment.

Why Cryopen Is Better Than Traditional Liquid Nitrogen Freezing?

Cryopen is designed to be more accurate compared to traditional cryotherapy using a canister as it has a micro-fine jet which can deliver targeted freezing to the nearest millimetre. It causes less discomfort as freezing of the healthy skin surrounding the wart is avoided. Cryopen can also reach a lower temperature compared to some canister treatments therefore allowing deeper freezing and more effective results from the first visit.

Is Cryotherapy Painful?

No. The treatment takes a few minutes and is painless only a slight burning sensation may be felt at the time of application of the Cryopen.

What Should I Expect After Cryotherapy Treatment?

After the treatment, the wart or skin tag will usually change colour and fall off after a few days. A few millimetres around the base of the wart the surrounding skin may change colour and become mildly red for a week. You do not need to apply any creams or lotions and there is no need to keep it covered.

  1. Hi,
I was wondering whether you could remove a single wart from a knee using cryotherapy, and would it leave a scar.
    Thank you.

    1. Dear Sassafras,

Yes that would be possible, the amount of scarring depends on the size of the wart being removed. It is best to come in for a consultation to have that sort of question answered as it is different for everyone.

      Kind Regards
